The biggest question we faced early on was simple to ask and hard to answer: how do you blend the gentle rhythm of a farming game with the systemic depth of a colony sim without one drowning out the other?
Our answer was to make them feed each other — literally. Your farm isn't a side activity; it's the engine that keeps your colony alive. A strong harvest means full bellies, happy settlers and the surplus to take risks. A failed crop means rationing, falling morale and hard choices when the raiders come.
On the colony side, every settler is a person with skills, needs and a mood. A talented farmer will coax more from the soil; a tired, hungry one will let crops rot in the field. Suddenly the cozy act of planting carries real stakes, and the cold math of colony management gains a warm, human face.
We're still tuning the balance, and that's exactly where you come in. Over the coming months we'll be sharing playtests and listening closely. Thanks for reading — there's so much more to show.
